Starting October 1st, 2024, all foreigners entering Zanzibar via seaport or airport must have valid inbound travel insurance covering their stay for up to 92 days. This requirement applies to all non-residents planning to visit the island.
According to a press released by the Minister of state finance and planning, This requirement is be implemented to ensure the safety and well being of all foreigners and mitigate any possible risk pertaining to their travel into the island. This policy provides comprehensive coverage for various emergencies including repatriation, evacuation and other related contingencies.
