Air Tanzania has been added to the EU Air Safety List by the European Commission, effectively prohibiting the airline from operating within European Union countries.
According to The decision comes amid heightened scrutiny over aviation safety standards.
“The latest update adds Air Tanzania to the list due to safety concerns identified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency,” said the Commission, which did not specify any particular violations.

The airline has subsequently been denied a Third Country Operator (TCO) authorisation by the EU.
The list is compiled by the European Commission based on occurrence reporting, which tracks and analyses safety-related events in civil aviation.
Air Tanzania, represented by TravelVision in South Africa, launched flights to Johannesburg in November 2024.
