Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, operators of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), has confirmed a temporary water leakage in the ticketing hall following an unusual rainfall.
The management assured passengers that the situation was promptly addressed and operations remained unaffected.
According to a press statement by the Head, Corporate Communications, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, this occurred when heavy rainfall combined with abnormal wind patterns directed water toward previously unaffected structural elements of the building.

She said this created pressure conditions that forced rainwater through weatherproofing systems that have performed adequately in all previous weather events.
The terminal maintenance department responded immediately, and water removal operations have since been completed.
The terminal remains open and operational, with the affected area fully restored.
A comprehensive facility assessment is already underway to prevent similar incidents during future extreme weather events.
