Arrivals from the Middle East, North America and Africa are anticipated to drive growth into Egypt’s tourism industry by 2021, according to data published ahead of Arabian Travel Market 2018.

From this year until 2021, arrivals from North America are expected to increase the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) by 3.9 percent to 318,844. Over the same period, visitor numbers from Africa are due to increase by 3.8 percent CAGR to more than 300,901, while arrivals from the Middle East are predicted to increase by three percent CAGR to over 1.34 million.

Factors contributing to this growth include the cheaper Egyptian Pound and government incentives for charter airlines carrying a certain number of passengers on international flights.

The expected resurgence of visitors from North America, Africa and the Middle East are planned to see both leisure and corporate travel to Egypt increase over the coming four years. Supporting the country’s tourism potential, the government is expected to pursue a number of tourism investments this year including a new national museum and a series of new airports across the country.
