The National Planning Committee of the “Ghana 60 Years-On Film Summit 2018” led by the Chairman of the committee , Mr. Richard Yaw Boateng, who is also the National President of Film Directors Guild of Ghana, paid a courtesy call on the Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines, Ghana Office, Madam Genet Michaels, in Accra Central on Wednesday 18th April, 2018.
At the meeting, Mr. Boateng informed Madam Genet of the preparations toward the organisation of this year’s edition of the film summit and also submitted a proposal for Ethiopian Airlines to sponsor the Summit.
Mr. Boateng unfolded to Madam Genet that as per the theme of this year’s edition of the Summit, “Rebranding Ghana Film Industry to Rebrand Ghana”, the Summit will launch the new rebranding name of the Ghana Film Industry at the summit and also award Legends of the Ghana Film Industry whose contributions to the Film Industry were very tremendous between the year 2000 and 2010.
Mr. Boateng cited that the recipients of the Legendary Awards would include film producers, film directors, film actors, film distributors and film crew.
Madam Genet Michaels accepted the Sponsorship letter, reviewed it and accepted that Ethiopian Airlines will sponsor the Summit just as they sponsored the maiden edition in last year 2017. She cited that Ethiopian Airlines couldn’t do much for the last year’s edition because they were called in too late to the event; but this year’s edition has started very early and it is good for them to have ample time to plan for the success of the Summit.
She expressed her appreciation for Ethiopian Airlines to be the Official Airline for the 2nd Edition of the Ghana 60 Years-On Film Summit for 2018.
Mr. Boateng, stood in on behalf of the National Planning Committee of the Summit to appreciate Ethiopian Airlines for coming on board as Official Airline Sponsor of the Ghana 60 Years-On Film Summit 2018.
At the meeting was the able presence of Mr. Ernest Ackom, Ag. General Secretary of Film Directors Guild of Ghana, and Mr. Collins, an officer of Ethiopian Airlines in Accra.
