Ethiopian Airlines wins Award of Excellence from Kano Traders

Recently at the ancient City of Kano Ethiopian Airlines was honored by Traders. With an Award.
This was at a general meeting on business organized by Youth Council of Traders in collaboration with NOIC Wallmart Foundation USA on empowerment of Africans to meet retail needs on 14 May 2016.
The association gave its AWARD OF EXCELLENCE to Ethiopian Airlines in recognition of its efforts, contributions, punctuality as well as modernizing airline activities and good hospitality to passengers.TSM-Kano Mr. Elias Teshome received the award and thanked the association for the recognition and promised to work more with the association in the future .

Ethiopian Airlines was invited as special guest along with the district heads who represented the Emir of Kano. Some commissioners represented the Governor of Kano. The Vice President of Nigerian Travel Agencies Association NANTA represented the association at the event.

In his speech the Chairman of the Northern Nigerian Traders Association Hassan Tahir Yaro (Alhaji) and the Chairman of Kano State Council of Youth Traders (KASCOYT thanked ET for its fast growth in the airlines industry & it’s dedicated service to their members in Kano and all other stations in Nigeria.

The Trade and Sales Manager for Kano Mr. Elias Teshome gave a short briefing about ET operations in Kano and globally. He thanked the association, Emir of Kano, Governor of Kano, & the Nigerian government for support given to ET and promised that ET will more grow in Nigeria and work hard to exceed customer expectations.ET holiday appointed agent in Kano Mr. Ayuba Umar also gave a short briefing in Hausa language about ET holiday & medical package.

The Chairman of the association declared to their members and participants that ET has been selected as their official carrier.
This comes as ET increased the Kano frequency to five on MON, TUE, WED, FRI, SAT and now operating with B-787/777 most of the time. ET also increased MEDINA flights frequency to three from two on MON, TUE, & WED.
Meanwhile ET has finalized preparation for Umrah and Hajji operation, & ready to uplift more pilgrims.

Recently in February Ethiopian held a very successful agency seminar.
At the seminar that was attended by leading agents in Kano issues involving passenger handling and hajj operations were discussed. Ethiopian Airlines started its flight to Kano in 2014 but has been flying to Nigeria since 1960. Today ET flies to Lagos Abuja and Enugu. Founded December 21, 1945 but started operation on April 08, 1946. It operates its Major Hub at Addis Ababa a Second Hub in Togo, Lome and a Third Hub at Lilongwe, Malawi. The Ownership is by Government of Ethiopia (100%) and the Chief Executive Officer is Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam.
