Florida’s inbound tourism numbers broke previous records as a total of 60.7 million tourists visited The Sunshine State during the first half of the year, said a report.
The increase in travellers, which is a 4.1 per cent jump over the first six months in 2016 — included 53.2 million domestic visitors, 5.3 million overseas tourists and 2.2 million Canadians, said a report in Tampa Bay Times.
“This is an exciting and historic time for the Florida tourism industry,” said Ken Lawson, CEO and president of Visit Florida, the state’s tourism promotion agency.
