Indigenous domestic operator and regionally accredited airline, Starbow, has been presented with an IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority in Accra. This follows two years of stringent safety audit by IATA and implementation of various remedial measures to ensure the airline meets the highest safety standards. “The journey for achieving IOSA started in 2013, when Starbow was privileged to be selected by IATA alongside 10 other Africa airlines to undergo an IOSA implementation training programme that was implemented in three hands-on workshops. “We are happy to be among the listed airlines which include major intercontinental and regional carriers that have successfully gone through this rigorous auditing process. “The IOSA certification provides an opportunity for code sharing and other collaborative initiatives. The standardisation of the auditing under the IOSA programme makes information sharing and collaboration amongst the carriers possible,” Mr. James Eric Antwi said.
