Revellers in Grenada will have to cover up a little bit more for carnival (Spicemas) this year, as the normal mode of dress is being touted as going against the norms and values of the Christian society.

Organiser’s have announced that there will be zero tolerance for nudity and indecent exposure, therefore, thongs, g-strings and full-body paint will not be allowed. And women whose breast are above a D-cup, will not be allowed to wear wire bras.

According to stlucianewsonline.com, anyone who goes against this dress code will be removed from the parade and fined.

In a televised message, Spicemas Corporation CEO Kelvin Jacob said the guidelines were borne out of public outcry over the last two years.

“Understanding that we are living in a Christian society our morals and values must be upheld,” he said, noting that the guidelines were included in the registration package for bands that signed off on it. The announcement has been met with criticism on social media.
