American tennis star Sloane Stephens, was spotted donning the green and white jersey of the Super Eagles of Nigeria while training for the ongoing Madrid Open.
The 2017 US Open Champion shared a video on her Twitter page rocking Nigeria national team’s jersey as she shimmied her hips to return forehand and backhand strokes with her trainer.
According to Soccernet, the American tennis star was greeted with impressive gestures from Nigerians. Some Nigerians who commented on her photo expressed their pleasure and support for her as she donned the beautiful jersey.
In another Twitter post, the 29-year old American said she has new Nigerian names now and will like to hear them as she looked to enjoy the attention she’s getting from Nigerians.
Stephens has won 7 WTA titles and ranked as high as number three in the world at a point. She’s currently ranked in the top 40 according to the WTA.
