The African Hospitality and Tourism Education Summit (AHTES), an initiative of Tourism Afrikania, is proud to announce its partnership with the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN) to deliver monthly professional career training programs aimed at advancing excellence and innovation in the hospitality and tourism industry across Africa.

As part of its vision to promote hospitality and tourism education, AHTES is not only organizing its annual summit on July 25th and 26th, 2025, in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, but is also embarking on this collaborative training initiative to equip industry professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to excel. These monthly training programs will include co-branded certifications from AHTES and HATMAN, further emphasizing their commitment to professional development.

In addition, participants will enjoy a 20% waiver on HATMAN membership registration fees, encouraging them to connect with Nigeria’s foremost professional body in hospitality and tourism. HATMAN, known for its annual international conference and AGM, offers members opportunities to network, collaborate, and learn, making this partnership a significant milestone for the sector.

Driving Excellence Through Collaboration

In a letter signed by HATMAN National President, Dr. Lilian C. Managwu, FHATMAN, and National Secretary, Prince Ayodele Martins Arokoyo, and addressed to Amb. Chimezie Mike, mHATMAN, Founder of Tourism Afrikania and Convener of AHTES, the association applauded this partnership as a laudable initiative.

The letter highlighted:

“We recognize the importance of continuous professional development in the hospitality and tourism sector and are confident that this training program will significantly contribute to enhancing the skills and expertise of professionals within the industry. This collaboration will elevate individual capabilities while contributing to the overall growth and success of the sector. Together, we can set new standards for quality service and innovation in this field.”

AHTES: A Platform for Growth and Innovation

AHTES is more than just an annual summit; it is a platform for scholars, innovators, students, industry professionals, B2B stakeholders, schools, and researchers to drive business solutions in hospitality and tourism. By fostering research and development, AHTES aims to inspire future leaders and enthusiasts to consider hospitality, travel, and tourism as viable career paths.
