Eniye Gbabo

Dr. Eniye Gbabo has set a new milestone for her family, becoming the first medical doctor in the Gbabo Dynasty.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Texila American University in Guyana, South America, marking a significant achievement for both her lineage and community.

Dr. Eniye whose medical field of specialization is Internal medicine (in view) gained admission into the prestigious medical institution in April 2019 and graduated in October 2024, according to a family source.

Before her current achievement, the latest medical doctor in Gbaramatu Kingdom, where parents hailed from in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science (Pre-Physician Assistant) from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania, United States.

After her first degree she returned back to Nigeria for her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) before she proceeded to continue her academic journey that led to her successfully earning her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

Eniye’s father, High Chief Gbabo, a prominent leader in the Gbaramatu Clan, is a native of Kenebra Idumu (quarters) of Oporoza Town, and the custodian to the Ugbodiwei traditional native title.

Speaking on the achievement of their daughter, Eniye’s parents who sojourned from Nigeria to witness the graduation of their daughter in the South American country of Guyana thanked God for the privilege and prayed God to continually elevate their daughter as well as others in the family.

“Our greatest joy lies in witnessing our children excel in their chosen paths. Today, we celebrate Eniye, who has not only pursued her dreams with excellence but has now earned her second degree, the prestigious title of Doctor of Medicine.

“We are immensely proud of her hard work, dedication, and perseverance. We pray that God continues to guide her and elevate her to even greater heights in her career and life,” they prayed.

Meanwhile, congratulations have begin to pour in from the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom and other well-wishers on the latest achievement by the Gbabo Family, who have now registered their presence as among those that have produced medical doctors in the riverine kingdom.
