Ethiopian Airlines has issued an urgent advisory to travel agents, warning of recurring passenger delays linked to ongoing reconstruction works around Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

In a notice to agents, the airline said recent developments and restricted access routes within the airport vicinity have led to passengers arriving late for departure, resulting in operational disruptions.

To address the situation, Ethiopian Airlines announced that check-in for its Lagos departures will now commence from 7:00 a.m., more than six hours ahead of scheduled departure time. The measure is aimed at reducing congestion and preventing further delays.

The airline called on travel agents to consistently advise passengers to arrive significantly earlier than usual, citing possible traffic bottlenecks and access challenges caused by construction activities.

According to management, early arrival will help ease terminal congestion, ensure timely passenger processing, reduce the risk of missed flights and support on-time departures.

Ethiopian Airlines expressed appreciation for the cooperation of agents and urged continued communication of the advisory to all affected passengers as reconstruction works continue.
