As part of its network expansion plan in Africa and the national objectives in the aviation sector, Saudi Arabia’s Flynas on January 8 celebrated its first direct flight between Jeddah and Djibouti.

According to Economy Middle East, the inaugural celebration was held at King Abdulaziz International Airport, attended by Djibouti’s Ambassador to the Kingdom and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Dya-Eddine Bamakhrama, as well as representatives from flynas and Jeddah Airports Company.

Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Djibouti, Faisal Al-Qabbani, and Djibouti’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport welcomed the flight at Djibouti International Airport. As of January 8, flynas started operating three weekly flights between Jeddah and Djibouti, extending the travel options it offers to its guests traveling to and from Africa. This expansion falls in line with the airline’s growth and expansion plan, launched under the title “We Connect the World to the Kingdom.”

The new flynas route connecting Jeddah and Djibouti also serves the objectives of the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP) to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques.

In late December, flynas celebrated the inaugural flight from Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport to Red Sea International Airport (RSI), marking the first direct link between the Eastern Region and the Red Sea destination. flynas will operate flights on this route twice weekly, on Thursdays and Saturdays, catering not only to the Red Sea destination but also to its neighboring areas. This new service complements the existing flights from Riyadh and Jeddah, enhancing connectivity between the Red Sea and the wider Kingdom.

The airline also launched three weekly direct flights between Prince Muhammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah and Sphinx International Airport in Cairo, increasing the frequency of its flights to the Egyptian capital. Starting December 11, flynas started operating three weekly flights on the new route, further expanding its flight network to Africa.
