Rwanda national carrier is set to fly directly to the United States after receiving Washington’s approval.
RwandAir applied for the permit to operate direct flights between Kigali and the US in March 2017, with a target launch of August 1, 2018.
The airline’s foreign air carrier permit allows it to “schedule and charter foreign air transportation of persons, property, and mail from points behind Rwanda via Rwanda and intermediate points to a point or points in the United States and beyond.”
According to the order issued by the US Department of Transportation, the permit became effective on May 29, 2018.
