Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park has been voted the best safari park in Africa in 2018 with an excellent rating of 4.9 on a scale of five.
Coming second was South Africa’s Mala Mala, a privately owned game reserve, which scored a rating of 4.88, followed closely by Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools National Park and Okavango Delta in Botswana with ratings of 4.87 and 4.77 respectively.
The report seen by TUKO.co.ke on Thursday, June 14, showed South Luangwa National Park in Zambia and Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana came fifth and sixth with ratings of 4.71 and 4.66 in that order. Another South African park, Sabi Sand Game Reserve, was placed at the seventh position with a 4.64 rating.
Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s best safari park, emerged at position eight with a rating of 4.61, followed by two more Tanzanian parks, Selous Game Reserve and Ngorongoro Crater, at positions nine and 10 respectively.
According to SafariBookings.com, one of the world’s most visited website for planning African safaris, some 1,670 travelers from 72 countries participated in the 2018 survey. A total of 139 parks drawn from eight major safari countries were considered for a place in the top 50 Africa’s finest parks.
The travel and tourism industry expert analysis was based on 2,530 park reviews collected through the SafariBookings.com website. Serengeti, which was also voted the best safari park in 2015, once again beat them all.
