Tourism: Africa’s longest Canopy walkway at Lekki Conservation Center Lagos to be closed for maintenance late January

Lekki Conservation Centre has announced plans to undergo maintenance. According to the management, the yearly maintenance routine which is set to take place from 22nd January to 3rd February 2025 is to enhance users experience in 2025.

Some selected activities like event/meeting halls, life-size games, sight-seeing, picnics and photo/video shoots will still be available to the public. “Kindly bear with us in this period for the purpose of thorough facility maintenance. We shall reopen to the public on February 3rd, 2025. We remain dedicated to the ideals of conservation of nature, protection of species, restoring and maintaining biodiversity for the present and future generations and showcasing same to all lovers of nature with safety and serenity assured,” said the management.

It could be recalled that in January 2024, Lagos State Government ordered the closure of the Lekki Conservation Centre for repairs following a viral video on social media by a visitor, lamenting the bad state of the canopy walk bridge and some other areas.

The Lekki Conservation Centre is a nature reserve in Lagos and one of the most visited tourist attractions in Nigeria.
