The Cross River State Carnival Commission today held a one-day training for Ad-Hoc Staff (Marshals) at the Eyo Ita House, Marian Road, Calabar.
The event commenced at 11:00 AM with an opening prayer. In his opening remarks, the Executive Secretary, Evang. Austin Cobham charged the marshals to be good ambassadors of the Commission and of Cross River State. He also personally conducted a screening exercise before the commencement of the training.
The training featured three key sessions:
1. Mr. Nsa spoke on the role of Marshals as a shield for the Carnival.
2. Mr. Peter educated the marshals on the right attitude to work and general conduct.
3. The Chief Marshal threw more light on the expected behavior and comportment of marshals on the Carnival route.
The session ended with an interactive segment where marshals asked questions, which were properly addressed. Accreditation of marshals was also successfully conducted.
It was a successful and impactful event, and the marshals are now fully set for the First Carnival Calabar Dry Run 2026.
