-as organizers announce the passing of Miss Tourism Ebonyi, MaureneOnu

As part of its efforts to join voices to that of others across the globe on domestic violence against women, the organizers of the Miss Tourism Nigeria beauty pageant, Qhue Concepts, is set to host a celebrity charity football match as part of its 2016 pre-activities for the Grand Finale show billed for 9th July 2016 at the Ruby Gardens, Lekki-Lagos.
“The celebrity charity football match activity is aimed at creating further awareness on domestic violence against women, even as we further entrench our efforts for charity,” says the CEO, Mr. Santiago Roberts.
He went on to explain that “the charity match is tagged, ‘Saving H.O.P.E’, and it is aimed to also serve as is a creative blend of football, music, networking and community development”.

The match scheduled to hold on the 6th of July, will see an All-Star team of A-list celebrities engage the Miss Tourism Nigeria 2016 contestants in an exciting game of football, at the Children’s International School (C.I.S), Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos by 4pm. Entry is FREE!
Nigeria’s finest, Korede Bello has been confirmed as the referee, while DenreleEdun as the Lines-man.
The events is also a movement platform for role models to relate with fans who would love to see and experience a different aspect of their talent and skills as a source of inspiration to be all they can be.
Proceeds from the football match will be donated to a charity home immediately after the blow of the final whistle.
The organizers also went on to announce the sudden death one of the finalists for the pageant, Maureen Onu, who was Miss Tourism Ebonyi 2016.
Maureen Onu passed away after a brief illness in the early hours of Thursday.
Mr. Santiago, CEO, MissTourismNigeria,after condoling with the family of deceased said that ‘Maureen was a very bright young woman who was always among the first to carry out any assignment given to them’.
He went on to explain that though they remain in pains about the deceased that ‘this year’s Miss Tourism Nigeria will hold despite the loss as all areas of production have already been settled;may her soul rest in peace.
‘The organization will redesign the content and production and dedicate the show to the memory of Maureen Onu. Nigeria and the pageant industry have truly lost a very precious one’.
