Tourism: Uganda announces April 2021 dates for its first virtual Pearl of Africa Expo

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) headed by Lilly Ajarova has announced the dates for 2021 Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE).

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, POATE 2021 will be hosted as a virtual event from April 23rd to 25th, with the theme:

Restarting Tourism for Regional Economic Development.

As part of the drive to promote Destination Uganda, world record holder, Joshua Cheptegei was appointed as tourism ambassador.

Last week, the State Minister of Tourism, Wildlife & Antiquities, Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda Ssubi, called on music stars and entertainment professionals to help the country’s tourism industry recover from the effects of COVID-19.

Registration for the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo 2021 is free and already open. Interested persons can log on to www.poate.co.ug to register.
