Like the Eiffel Tower in France or the Renaissance Monument in Senegal, Benin Republic has erected a gigantic statue, in honour of valiant Amazonians of Dahomey, a select all-female military regiment of the Kingdom of Dahomey which existed until 1904.

The new structure was chosen by the country as a visual identity to make itself known nationally, regionally, and internationally while attracting tourists to Benin.

The towering bronze stature with an overall height of 30 meters is being constructed by Chinese sculptor, Li Xiangqun of Beijing Huashi Xianqun Culture and Arts Co. Ltd.
