The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) has donated essential field equipment to Cross River National Park (CRNP) to support rangers and strengthen conservation and protection activities within the Park.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Anthony Atah – Cross River Landscape Director, who presented the items on behalf of the WCS Country Director, stated that the donation is part of WCS’s continued support for conservation efforts and the protection of Nigeria’s rich Biodiversity and wildlife resources.
Receiving the items, the Conservator of Parks, Cross River National Park, CP Joseph Assam Ntui, expressed appreciation to WCS for its continued partnership and commitment to supporting the Park. He noted that the equipment would significantly enhance the capacity of field personnel to carry out patrols, monitoring, wildlife protection and other conservation activities.
He commended WCS for its continued collaboration with the Nigeria National Park Service and assured that the items would be put to effective use in advancing the mandate of the Service.
The items include:
1. 2 pcs Handheld Garmin GPS MAP 65
2. 4 pcs Ulefone Armor 27 Pro 5G Rugged Smartphone
3. 30 pcs Exped Flexmat Sleeping pad
4. 20 pcs Arcturus lightweight Ripstop Nylon poncho with adjustable Hood.
