Africa: Uganda Tourism Board, UHOA host joint meeting With WHO over coronavirus

Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), and Uganda Hotel Owners Association have held a joint meeting with the World Health Organisation to discuss the effect of the spread of COVID-19 or Coronavirus on the tourism and travel industry in the country.

WHO Country Director Dr Tegen and Minister of Health Dr Aceng who were present at the meeting deliberated on ways to mitigate the disease which had impacted on the hospitality and tourism industry.

Chairlady, UHOA, Mrs Susan Muhwezi said the association is glad on the steps taken by the government to protect the citizens and businesses in the country.

“It’s humbling to see how we as the tourism industry have all rallied together to make the very best of this situation. Our businesses have taken a hit but we are proud of the government efforts to keep us all safe”.
