He said: “I commend the Chief Executive Officer of TOS Industrial Farms, who is also the BaaGbeyi of Egbaland, Chief Tanimola Sanyaolu, for the business initiative in building this farm to reduce our dependence on importation and increase exportation, create jobs on a massive scale and accelerate economic growth.
“This farm is a testament to the widely acknowledged patriotism of Chief Sanyaolu and his wife, Erelu Baagbeyi of Egbaland, Mrs. Abisola Sanyaolu. The United Kingdom-based property magnate and economist appealed to the government to foster an atmosphere that will attract more private sector investments in the agricultural sector.”
He said: “I can assure you that the first benefit, of course, is increased food production across the state and the country. It will increase employment opportunities, fast market readiness, and lower consumer cost.
“The next advantage of industrial agriculture is that the modern consumer has access to a broader palate and a more balanced diet. Due to the variety of foods that are available in stores today, most people can satisfy any nutritional needs almost instantly. The result of this farm will boom in food production levels that would have been unthinkable just a few centuries ago.”
The event was attended by political, traditional, and religious leaders, among who were Baagbimo of Egbaland, Chief Isreal Akinwale, who also represented former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Adekunle Adeyemi, and the Ontoko of Obantoko, Oba Abdulganiyu Kevin.
