ASKY Airlines has officially launched flights to Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, marking its 30th destination and reinforcing Lomé’s position as a key aviation hub in West Africa.
The expansion comes as over 2 million passengers now pass through Lomé annually, highlighting its strategic role in regional air travel.

“With the addition of Nouakchott, we now offer same-day connections between Mauritania and cities like Nairobi and Luanda, enhancing intra-African connectivity,” said Esayas Woldemariam Hailu, CEO of ASKY Airlines.
“We are growing, and the government of Togo continues to support our expansion.”

The carrier also has plans to venture beyond the continent. “Next year, we’ll begin operations to Beirut, Madrid, and other non-African destinations,” Hailu revealed, signaling ASKY’s intent to become a bridge between Africa and the rest of the world.
Togo’s government is simultaneously ramping up investments in transport infrastructure, including airport expansion and improvements to port logistics.
These developments align with ASKY’s growth trajectory, further positioning Lomé as a competitive gateway for air travel across Africa and beyond.
