ARBA Minch

Ethiopia has officially inaugurated the Arba Minch Conference Resort, a state-of-the-art hospitality development designed to strengthen the country’s tourism sector and position Arba Minch as a premier destination for conferences, business events and leisure travel.

The newly opened resort features 85 luxury guestrooms, including two presidential suites, alongside a modern conference centre with a seating capacity of more than 1,300 delegates, making it one of the country’s key venues for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE).

Beyond its conference facilities, the resort offers floating restaurants overlooking the area’s scenic lakes, wellness and fitness amenities, beautifully landscaped gardens planted with more than 2,000 fruit trees, and immersive cultural experiences that celebrate Ethiopia’s diverse heritage and traditions. Located in the southern city of Arba Minch, renowned for its breathtaking natural attractions including Lakes Abaya and Chamo, as well as the nearby Nech Sar National Park, the resort is expected to attract both domestic and international visitors seeking a blend of business and leisure experiences.

Tourism officials believe the investment will significantly enhance the city’s capacity to host major national and international events while creating jobs, stimulating local businesses and supporting Ethiopia’s broader strategy of expanding its tourism and hospitality infrastructure. The opening of the Arba Minch Conference Resort underscores Ethiopia’s continued commitment to developing world-class tourism assets, diversifying its visitor offerings and strengthening its reputation as one of Africa’s emerging destinations for business tourism and cultural travel.
