The Nigerian Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) will host its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kwara State on July 18th, 2024, under the theme “Tourism as a Catalyst for Progress, Peace, and Partnership.”

Mrs. Uloma Egbuna, Managing Director and CEO of Tour Brokers International Limited (TBI) Group of Companies, will be a speaker at the AGM. TBI is a multi-award-winning IATA-approved company dedicated to promoting tourism services. Under Mrs. Egbuna’s innovative leadership, TBI has expanded beyond Nigeria, establishing strategic partnerships with local and international companies. TBI operates two subsidiaries: TBI Cruises and Tours, which represents the Royal Caribbean Cruise line in West Africa, and Bespoke Holidays, the luxury brand representing Emirates Holidays in Nigeria. Additionally, TBI serves as the GSA for Bedsonline in Nigeria, part of Hotelbeds.

With an impressive 34 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, Mrs. Egbuna has trained and mentored numerous tour operators. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Language and Linguistics from the University of Calabar, a Master of Arts (MA) in the same field from the University of Ibadan, and a Diploma in French. She is a certified American Masters Degree Cruise Consultant, a certified American Seller of Travel, an alumnus of the prestigious Lagos Business School, and a member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria. Currently pursuing a PhD in Organizational Leadership, Mrs. Egbuna’s passion for travel and tourism continues to inspire her work and leadership in transforming the African hospitality industry.

The special guests of honor for the event are Mrs. Lola Ade John, the Federal Minister of Tourism, and Stella Fubara, the Managing Director of Del-York Development Company. Their presence underscores the importance of tourism in Nigeria’s national development agenda.

Other notable speakers include Bayo Adedeji, Group CEO of Wakanow, and Dr. Kabir Ali Masanwa, Executive Director of Economic Development and Investment at the Katsina State Development Management Board. These industry leaders will share their insights on current trends and future prospects of the tourism sector.

Additionally, the event will feature a panel session comprising tourism professionals from across the country, providing a platform for in-depth discussions on industry challenges and opportunities. This session will be moderated by Amb. Ikechi Uko, the Organizer of AKWAABA African Travel Market, the largest tourism exhibition in West Africa.
