The need to grow Nigeria’s agro-export through aviation was once again brought to the front burner at the 3rd edition of the aviacargo conference, as experts in the sector converged to shed light on why the country’s export is facing rejections and steps to take to stem it and improve its produces.
Speaking at the event, themed: ““Unlocking The Logistics Barrier To Improve Agro Product Exports”, organizer of the 3rd Chinet Mr. Ikechi Uko, said the event has been able to create a consciousness and reawakening in the sector among relevant government agencies and stakeholders on the need to improve the country’s agro-export through strategic collaborations and formulation of friendly policies to aid agro-exports in the sector.
Uko said the Nigerian economy will grow better when goods are distributed faster within its borders and externally.
“Today marks another day of knowledge sharing along the Aviacargo Value Chain. We have many experts in Nigeria. We have money in Nigeria. We have resources in Nigeria, but we have not been able to get many things right. What has been missing is the willpower and resolve to bring together these variables into a workable mix.
“Chinet, over the past 2 years, has succeeded in bringing together these materials to help grow the economy. We have broken the silos and have brought together strange bedfellows. We have strung together a patchwork of important Government Agencies and private sector experts to develop a roadmap for Aviacargo growth in Nigeria. We have created a community for the growth of Aviacargo in Nigeria. People are reaching out of their comfort zones to engage successfully.
“It is the beginning of building a strong economy through growth in Aviation and Cargo in Nigeria. The Nigerian economy will grow better when goods are distributed faster within its borders and externally. The success of past Chinet conferences sets the tone for a new paradigm for cargo distribution in Nigeria.
“It will not be proper to end my speech without thanking FAAN, who have decided to champion the growth of Aviacargo in Nigeria. The fallout of the 2022 Chinet Conference established the roadmap committee for Aviacargo in Nigeria. Chinet has acted as the catalyst to integrate the Value Chain. In other words, CHINET has built and is still building the architecture for a robust Aviacargo ecosystem for Nigeria.”
