The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region has entered into a 22-month agreement with CRJE East Africa Limited to build a five-star hotel in Dodoma, marking the capital city’s first luxury hotel project.
According to thecitizen, the hotel, to be managed by Pristine and Time Company, is expected to be completed within the contract period.
During the contract‑signing ceremony at Parliament in Dodoma on September 26, 2025, Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania and President of the Inter‑Parliamentary Union (IPU), Dr Tulia Ackson, said the project was on course for timely completion.
She said the hotel would provide accommodation for international guests visiting the country, with special rooms reserved for them.
“Dodoma is the country’s capital and the seat of Parliament. This hotel will accommodate guests of the President and Parliament. They will no longer be forced to arrive and depart on the same day, as there will be a five‑star facility with dedicated rooms for them,” said Dr Ackson.
She added that the completion of Msalato International Airport would facilitate the arrival of international visitors who will stay at the hotel.
Dr Ackson recalled that the idea of building the hotel was first proposed in 2019 by then‑Speaker Job Ndugai, but the project stalled due to a lack of funds.
Now, with financing from CRDB Bank in collaboration with other institutions, the project is set to proceed.
Clerk of the National Assembly, Mr Baraka Leonard, said the hotel would be constructed in Dodoma’s Njedengwa area, on land and with permits provided by the government. He described the project as an investment venture for CPA Africa.
“The construction contract runs for 22 months, and we expect completion on time so that the hotel can commence operations as planned,” he said.
CPA Africa Treasurer and Ugandan MP, Mr Enosy Asiimwe, said they expected the project to deliver the intended benefits, assuring it would be a profitable investment for members rather than a loss‑making venture.
He explained that Tanzania was chosen because its National Assembly hosts the CPA Africa Region’s headquarters.
