The Ekiti State Government has announced plans to review its Tourism Development Master Plan as part of efforts to position tourism as a major driver of employment, investment, and sustainable growth.
According to a press release signed by the General Manager, Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Barrister Babasoji Awe, Ekiti State Government, under the leadership of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, is taking the bold move to make tourism a key driver of jobs, culture, investment, and sustainable development.

The interactive session, which will bring together ministries, federal agencies, transport unions, professional associations, traditional rulers, security agencies, and private sector players, is scheduled for Thursday, 28th August 2025, at the Old EXCO Chamber, Cabinet Wing, Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti, by 10:00 a.m.
Director General of the Bureau, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, said: “This initiative represents Governor Oyebanji’s unwavering belief in tourism as a viable economic driver. The process will not only strengthen infrastructure and improve security but will also attract investment while promoting the values and heritage that make Ekiti unique.”
The State Government urged all invited stakeholders to actively participate in shaping what it described as a “historic and inclusive roadmap” for Ekiti tourism.
