Africa: Ethiopian Aviation University Celebrates Graduation of 457 Professionals from 12 Nations, Boosting Pan-African Aviation Talent

Ethiopian Aviation University (EAU) has graduated 457 aviation professionals from 12 different countries at a ceremony held on January 17, 2026, in Addis Ababa.

The graduates completed training in pilot, aircraft maintenance, and cabin crew programs.

According to a statement by the airline, 58 pilots, 115 aircraft maintenance technicians, and 284 cabin crews begin their aviation career path. The graduating class comprised of trainees from Ethiopia, Cameroon, Chad, Gabon, Italy, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and Yemen, reflecting the University’s growing international reach and multicultural learning environment.

Commenting on the graduation, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew said, “Ethiopian Aviation University has been the backbone of Ethiopian Airlines’ success for decades, training the skilled professionals behind the airline’s operations. Ethiopian Aviation University has been expanding its educational system providing a variety of higher education training programs, including short-term and medium-term training, as well as undergraduate and graduate programs.
