Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has inaugurated the second phase of Ethiopian Skylight 5 Star Hotel, which is owned by the Ethiopian Airlines Group, the largest aviation group in Africa.

The five-star luxurious hotel is built with a cost of over 155 million USD, $90m more than the construction of the first phase opened in 2022.

Skylight hotel consists of 651 rooms, meeting halls, different types of restaurants swimming pool, and gym with SPA, among others. The first phase of the hotel covers 42,000 m2 and has 373 rooms, which brings the total number of rooms 1024.

According to fanabc.com, the hotel has created 1,100 job opportunity.

The hotel is located at the heart of Africa’s diplomatic hub Addis Ababa, just five minutes’ walk away from the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

“The grand opening of Ethiopian Skylight Hotel Phase II is a testimony that Addis Ababa is a key continental hub for travel with adequate facilities to cater to a global audience” Abiy said.
Representatives of the international community, senior government officials and public figures attended the inaugural ceremony.
