The Executive Chairman of Obanliku Local Government Council, Hon. Sunny Ayang, JP, welcomed the management team of the Ranch Resort, Cross River State to his office in Sankwala, Obanliku, for a courtesy visit aimed at fostering collaboration to enhance tourism in the region.

The meeting underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in boosting the hospitality and tourism sector, positioning the Ranch Resort as a key driver of economic growth in Obanliku.

According to a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Obanliku Local Government Council, Kayang, Emmanuel, the courtesy visit which was at the instance of congratulating the Executive Chairman on his achievements in his first 100 days in office, also offered the management team the opportunity to familiarise   and share their challenges with the executive chairman.

Speaking during the meeting, the tour and event manager of the Ranch Resort, Mr. Jerome Akor Ademola highlighted the challenges limiting the Ranch Resort from maintaining its previous status as the world’s highly rated tourism destination. Some of the challenges and suggestions raised, included the security of the Ranch community and synergy on subsidizing transportation cost for tourists. They equally recommended the hosting of some local, national or international events and conferences at the Ranch resort through effective collaboration with the state government, while appealing for the repair and re-establishment of the police post at the Ranch.

Hon. Sunny in his response promised to swiftly look into their appeal, while assuring them that men of the Community Policing outfit will be deployed to areas such as the ranch to beef up security. He further urged the management of the Ranch Resort to collaborate with the Special Assistant on Public Transportation with the aim of ameliorating transportation cost for potential tourists. He concluded by charging the Special Assistant on Tourism and Refugee Matters, Mr. John  Ochon to quickly swing into action by reviving  the suspended mountain race, though  a  locally organized one at the interim.

The chairman further sought for prayers and collaboration towards building on his achievements as he progresses in office. The highlight of the meeting was a group photograph.

Also in attendance at the meeting were the General-Manager,  Mrs Menchie, the Human Resource manager, Mr Celestine Keji, the Procurement Officer, Mr. Esang Williams, Housekeeping manager, Mr. David Etto and Special Assistant, Ranch matters, Mr. Augustine Ishombolga.
