Carnival Calabar 2025

Eric Anderson the former Commissioner of Tourism Cross River State is the Leader of Diamond Band, one of the 2 new Bands created four years ago.

His band has been chasing the title of Carnival Calabar winner and this year he feels they are strong enough to challenge for the title.

We are ready

The best of us, every year adds up and fine tunes us, this year we have shown in the three dry runs intense seriousness, not only gearing up for the win but to entertain and add value to the overall experience.

Strong Contenders

This year is our fourth outing, and we have always been a serious contender in the past years. We are here to celebrate 20 years of uniqueness and be rest assured that we are coming out stronger than ever. However, we are equal to the task and will certainly spring up surprises.

Diamond Band is Royalty

Our colours indeed, Purple is Royalty, and it stands us out when we approach. We have very young heads at the leadership, and Diamond has been at the forefront of sustaining the promotions of Carnival Calabar beyond the parade.

Carnival Calabar 2025

It is the 20th year Celebration, which comes with expectations, more participation, and high spirits. So, we are putting in a lot more energy, finesse, and creativity so as to complement the Governments efforts as well.

After 20 years of playing The Carnival, my personal story

On the first Carnival in 2004, I was simply a reveller with Bayside Band, later migrated to Freedom Band as King of the Band for a couple of years. From my passion and contribution, when I left for Seagull band, I became the youngest deputy band leader.

Every movement came with its prize and knowledge. As a commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development, I managed the Governor’s band, and when Carnival band expansion was very needed due to increased participation, I was found worthy to become a band leader.

Today as the youngest band Leader of Diamond Band in the Carnival Calabar, I offer experience and passion for the trade and my sincere purpose is to choose a deserving team to work with for an innovative, creative, energetic, sustainable Carnival Calabar with global competitive index.
