“These 34 people from the Caribbean who are only coming home to take back what belongs to them.”

He described the slave trade which saw Africans moved to other continents and countries as slaves as evil.

“The slave trade still remains the most evil act ever perpetuated on mankind by another mankind”

“When you stand at the Cape Coast or Elmina castle at the archway, you will realise that no sense of human imagination can capture the gravity of horror placed in these forts and castles which made families separate from each other forever”

“I wish to assure you that the ministry of the interior would give you the needed assistance in the acquisition of your passports if the need arises,” he said.

Bani urged them to be law-abiding citizens who will contribute their quota to the development of the country.

The ambassador of the African Diasporan community, Erieka Bennett also asked them to show that “you are not an African because you are born in Africa, you are an African when Africa is born in you”.
She urged them to live in peace and see this as a priviledge rather than a right.
