Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has called for stronger collaboration among tourism, trade and investment stakeholders to transform the Eastern Region’s rich natural and cultural resources into sustainable economic opportunities.
Gomashie made the call at the opening of the maiden Eastern Regional Expo in Koforidua, where stakeholders gathered to explore opportunities for tourism development, investment and economic growth in the region.
The Minister stressed the importance of closer cooperation among the various sectors, particularly as Ghana seeks to maximise the economic value of its tourism and cultural assets.

She said stronger partnerships among tourism, trade and investment stakeholders would help create sustainable opportunities from the Eastern Region’s natural and cultural resources.
Her comments came as Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development, Hon. Augustus Obuadum Tanoh, urged traditional authorities to make litigation-free land available to investors to accelerate tourism development.
Tanoh suggested that land could be leased rather than sold, enabling communities to retain ownership while benefiting from investment and development.
The discussions at the expo highlight the growing emphasis on collaboration, investment and sustainable development as Ghana seeks to unlock the economic potential of tourism across its regions.
