Africa: Ghanaian startup airline, McDan Group to employ 400 nationals as its commences commercial private jet aviation services in January

Ghanaian Startup airline, McDan Commercial Private Jet Services which is set to begin operation in January 2022, will offer employment to over 400 Ghanaians in the aviation sector.

According to myjoyonline.com, the Company will kick start the Commercial Private Jet Services with 3 Jests and One Helicopter whilst arrangements would be made for the addition of the Bombardier, Chaligerer, BV Jet, and Helicopters to offer Air-ambulance Medical and domestic tourism.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of McDan Group of Companies, Daniel McKorley he averred that Ghana is opening up to the world hence the need to set another standard in a business where businessmen and women would have the opportunity to do business with ease as far as travel is concerned.

He noted that the Private Jet business is a Fixed Based Operation (FBO) where anyone who can afford can walk in, make a request for a flight, pay, and all other services from the place of residence to their destination and back are taken care of by the Company.

“Any private jet coming to Ghana has to pass through this terminal,” he said.

McDan also mentioned that the flights have the capacity to travel to anywhere in the world, adding that security is excellently assured with the SOP arrangements completed and the Ghana Airport Company and Aviation Authority completing works in terms of security.

The McDan Aviation owned by the CEO of the McDan Group of Companies, Mr Daniel McKorley, acquired the Airport Terminal 1 through a lease agreement for the private jets business.

It received a license to commence operations in 2019 as Ghana’s first fixed-base operator (FBO). Per the FBO, McDan Aviation now caters for the full ground handling services at KIA T1.

This includes general aviation operations, aircraft service operations, aircraft airframe and engine repairs (maintenance), and aircraft rentals.

The facility boasts of VIP lounge, a crew lounge, and a flight planning office, as well as conference facilities and a hangar.
Passengers and crew can complete customs and immigration procedures in the same building, which also features a restaurant that can provide in-flight catering.
