The King of the Ashanti of Ghana, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II yesterday played host to the former Seychelles Tourism Minister Alain St.Ange.
The former Minister who currently heads his very own ‘Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy’ was received by The Majesty at his private Kumasi Residence for discussions on tourism and on other potential economic areas.
Mr St.Ange is currently in Ghana as part of his six odd months tourism contract awarded after a public bidding exercise that sees him spending extended stays in the West African Nation of Ghana.
At His Majesty’s Kumasi Residence, discussions centered on tourism as a vital industry especially now that the Kumasi International Airport was nearing completion, as well as looking at opportunities for ‘value added’ openings for raw products of Ghana and also the historical museum where Seychelles is featured as the home of the Ghana’s Exile King and his entourage for a point in time.
This Kumasi meeting is not the first time His Majesty the King has met with Alain St.Ange. Both recounted their meetings in Seychelles when His Majesty was a guest of honour at the Seychelles ‘Carnival International de Victoria’ when St.Ange, as the then Tourism Minister of Seychelles, successfully staged the world’s only carnival of carnivals as part of his visibility drive for the Seychelles important tourism industry.
“Today I appreciated the private meeting with His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11. The points discussed were interesting for my consultancy work as they opened potentials for Ghana’s economy. From both sides we shall now follow up on all the points discussed and see how we can bring proposed areas of cooperation to fruition” Alain St.Ange said.
After the meeting His Majesty the King personally led a visit of his ancestors history museum before St.Ange departed for Kumasi airport for his late afternoon flight to Accra.
