Africa: Juliana Kagwa Appointed CEO of Uganda Tourism Board, Bringing Along 20 Years of Leadership and Brand Strategy Experience

Juliana Kagwa has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Board, bringing nearly two decades of experience in leadership and brand strategy to guide the country’s tourism growth.

According to atta, She replaces Lilly Ajarova, who took up a new role as senior presidential advisor after serving as CEO since January 10, 2019.

Before joining UTB, Kagwa was Group Sales Marketing Director at Seed Co Group, a South African company. Prior to that, she was Director of Corporate Relations at Diageo.

The UTB advertised the CEO position in January, seeking a highly qualified candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields. Applicants needed at least seven years of experience in tourism, hospitality, or marketing, with proven senior management skills.
