Kenya Airways has seen a shift in its foreign market rankings, with China emerging as its second most lucrative international route after the United States.
This marks the first time China has overtaken India, underscoring the airline’s increasing reliance on Chinese travel and trade connections.

According to nation.africa, KQ’s Revenues from China have gone up steadily since Beijing eased Covid-19 restrictions and re-opened its borders during the pandemic.
KQ earned Sh8.3 billion ($64 million) from its flights on the Nairobi-Guangzhou route in the year to December 2024, a 44 percent jump from the Sh5.7 billion ($44 million) it made from the market a year earlier.
