Kenya’s tourism industry stakeholders have celebrated 30 years of Ecotourism Kenya and the 18th edition of the EcoWarrior Awards 2026, recognising individuals and establishments advancing sustainable tourism, environmental conservation and responsible tourism practices across the country.
The Kenya Tourism Federation joined other industry stakeholders at the celebration, which highlighted three decades of efforts to promote environmentally responsible tourism and strengthen sustainability within Kenya’s travel, tourism and hospitality sector.
The milestone also provided an opportunity to honour individuals and tourism establishments whose initiatives and practices are contributing to environmental protection and setting standards for a greener tourism industry.
The EcoWarrior Awards, now in their 18th edition, recognise contributions to sustainable tourism and efforts to integrate environmental conservation into tourism operations.
Through such recognition, the awards encourage tourism businesses and professionals to adopt responsible practices that protect Kenya’s natural heritage while supporting the long-term development of the sector.
Kenya’s tourism industry depends significantly on its natural attractions, including wildlife, national parks, forests and coastal ecosystems. Stakeholders have therefore continued to emphasise the importance of balancing tourism growth with conservation and responsible resource management.
