The Kiambu National Polytechnic has unveiled a new partnership with Germany’s BSZ Erding vocational training center and the German Hotel & Restaurant Association (DEHOGA Bayern), offering Kenyan students specialized training and employment opportunities in leading hotels across Germany.
According to thekenyatimes.com, the program targets qualified trainees for a hospitality apprenticeship programme in Germany, with successful applicants set to receive six months of blended training in Kenya before being placed in leading hotels across Germany.
Who Is Eligible
According to the notice issued on October 7, to qualify, applicants must:
- Have basic German language skills (minimum A1 level or equivalent).
- Hold a hospitality-related qualification in Food & Beverage, or Catering & Accommodation (minimum Artisan/Level 4 or equivalent),
- OR have at least two years of work experience in the hospitality industry.
- Be between 18 and 24 years old.
Programme Structure
The training will run from January to July 2026 at Kiambu National Polytechnic (KINAP) and will include:
- German language instruction
- A hospitality curriculum designed to meet the standards of the German job market
Upon completion, graduates will be placed in German hotels for a paid apprenticeship, preparing them for full entry into the German hospitality workforce.
