Lekki Art Market

The Lagos State Government has renewed its drive to boost tourism and cultural development through an inspection tour of prominent creative centres across the state, signaling fresh efforts to strengthen the creative economy and position Lagos as a leading cultural destination.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, alongside the Director, Research and Development Department of the Ministry, Mr. Frank Legunsen and other officials visited the Lekki Arts and Crafts Market and Spotlight, Victoria Island, on February 4, 2026.

The visit was aimed at assessing existing cultural assets, engaging directly with artisans, and identifying opportunities to further support the creative sector.

The exercise shows the State Government’s resolve to grow the creative economy, preserve indigenous heritage, and position Lagos as a leading destination for arts, culture, and tourism.

As Africa’s tourism hub and one of seven recognised art destinations globally, Lagos continues to prioritise the empowerment of artisans and creative entrepreneurs. Strengthening this sector remains central to driving sustainable economic growth, job creation, and global visibility for the State’s rich cultural heritage.
