Following the Federal Government’s decision to construct the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road, which will lead to the demolition of several structures on it’s right of way, the Landmark Group, one of the companies that maybe affected has said it is hopeful of reaching an amicable resolution with the Nigerian Government.
Chief Executive Officer, Landmark Africa Group, Paul Onwuanibe in a post on his official Instagram handle said following intense discussions with officials of Lagos State and the Federal Government, the firm has been assured that there will be no disruption to its business whilst dialogue continues to create a win/win result.
According to him, the feredral government’s decision to construct the Lagos-Calabar road along the beachfront is coming at a time he is being recognized as the Tourism Man of the year by Travellers Magazine hosted ATQNEWS, for his vision of the Landmark ecosystem, which has become the turning point for Beach Tourism in Africa.
He stated that iIronically, the coastal road designed to enhance tourism appears to threaten the most visited tourism location in West Africa.
He however said: ” I thank immensely friends, family and the Government officials who have shown bundles of empathy and a strong desire to see a fair and credible solution”.
