Casablanca–Nouakchott Route

A new strategic partnership between Royal Air Maroc and Mauritania Airlines aims to strengthen air connectivity between Casablanca and Nouakchott, enhancing travel and trade links in the region.

The agreement marks a significant step in expanding bilateral cooperation in air transport and improving passenger options on this key West African route.

According to libyanexpress.com, the two companies stated that this agreement reflects the strength of bilateral relations between Morocco and Mauritania.

The agreement, signed in Casablanca, stipulates the coordination of efforts between the two companies to improve services provided to passengers and develop the air connectivity network between the two capitals. It also includes studying the possibility of opening new routes in the future, including other cities in both countries.

The agreement also covers several areas, including the exchange of expertise in the fields of aviation maintenance, technical training, and skills development, with the aim of enhancing the level of competitiveness and service of the two national airlines.

This step is expected to contribute to facilitating the movement of people and goods between the two countries and supporting the tourism and trade sectors, especially in light of the dynamism experienced by Moroccan-Mauritanian economic relations in recent years.

Observers believe that this cooperation reflects a shared political will to deepen bilateral ties and engage in complementary projects that meet the aspirations of both countries, particularly in the areas of transportation, energy, and infrastructure. This is within a comprehensive vision to promote stability and development in the Maghreb and West Africa.

This development comes in the context of growing interest on both sides in strengthening the strategic partnership between Rabat and Nouakchott and opening up broader horizons for cooperation in vital sectors.
