In a significant move to enhance the travel experience for passengers, United Nigeria Airlines Company Limited has proudly welcomed the delivery of a state-of-the-art Airbus A320 aircraft.
This latest addition to its fleet according to the airline is set to revolutionize services on the airline’s expanding routes.
The Airbus, making its grand entrance into Nigeria in the early hours of Sunday, October 15, was greeted with a ceremonial water salute orchestrated by the dedicated operatives of the Fire Service of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Mr. Achilleus-Chud Uchegbu, the Head of Corporate Communications of United Nigeria, shared the exciting news in a statement, highlighting the airline’s commitment to providing top-notch services. The new Airbus is slated to serve on existing routes, including Enugu, Port Harcourt, Warri, Owerri, Asaba, Anambra, Bayelsa, Lagos, and Abuja.

However, the ambitious airline has even more plans for expansion, aiming to unite travelers with destinations like Sokoto, Kano, Jos in Plateau State, Benin in Edo State, and Ebonyi state. This expansion is coupled with a dedicated focus on enhancing customer services for an overall improved travel experience.
Mr. Uchegbu emphasized that the addition of the Airbus aligns seamlessly with the strategic vision of the company to broaden its reach and connect more Nigerians with their destinations, all while prioritizing safety and comfort.
“The arrival of the Airbus is in line with the strategic expansion visions of the airline which our chairman, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, had spelt out severally,” said Mr. Uchegbu, highlighting the chairman’s commitment to enhancing the airline’s fleet.
In furthering the commitment to excellence, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo had previously pledged the arrival of another Airbus in early December, with two E190 aircraft joining the fleet in the first quarter of 2024.
