Nigerian-founded mobility technology company, Moove has joined the ranks of Africa’s unicorn startups after raising US$250 million in a Series C funding round, pushing its valuation to US$2.1 billion.
The milestone makes Moove one of the continent’s most valuable technology companies and underscores growing investor confidence in African mobility solutions.
According to Nairametrics, the funding round was led by Mubadala Investment Company and co-led by Woven Capital, Toyota’s growth fund, and Ion Pacific. It also attracted new investors, including BlueCrest Capital Management, Sona Asset Management, and The Raptor Group, while existing investors such as BlackRock, MUFG, Franklin Templeton, Uber, Left Lane, Silverbacks Holdings, Square Associates, The Latest Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst, and the Ontario Power Generation Pension Plan increased their backing.
The Series C raise is the largest single funding round announced by an African startup in 2026, reinforcing Moove’s position as one of the continent’s leading technology companies. Moove said the fresh capital will be deployed to expand its autonomous vehicle business, including investments in fleet ownership and the rollout of robotics-first depot infrastructure known as “Nests.” These facilities are designed to support charging, maintenance, servicing and the continuous operation of autonomous vehicle fleets. The company also plans to use the investment to accelerate its expansion into new international markets as it scales its technology-driven mobility platform.
Founded in Nigeria, Moove has built a global reputation by providing vehicle financing and mobility solutions for ride-hailing and logistics drivers. The latest funding marks a significant milestone not only for the company but also for Africa’s technology ecosystem, highlighting continued international investor interest in innovative startups developing transport and mobility solutions.
