Akwa Ibom State in South-South Nigeria is set to promote indigenous crafts to a global audience as the Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Entrepreneurial Development, Mrs Meflyn Anwana visited Raffia City Hub with a team of young vibrant tourism entrepreneurs.

In a focused group discussion with some executive members of the ‘Mask and Raffia Traders and Markers Association’ at the business hub, Mr. Allen Effeh, the team lead of Akwa Ibom State Tourism Entrepreneurs disclosed the urgency required to have their beautifully kneaded crafts on display in the global market, riding on the back of modern technology.

He emphasized that the SA to the Governor on Entrepreneurial Development was passionately on a mission to have their creative art become a viable channel for revenue generation and foreign exchange.

Walking the talk of scaling the skill craft market beyond the boundaries of Africa, the SA to the Governor declared business registration support to the ‘Masks and Raffia Traders Association’ thereby positioning the group for development funds, grants and other competitive financial incentives.
