In a recently convened general meeting, members of the Nigerian Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) took a significant step towards amplifying their collective impact in the tourism industry.

The visionary initiative, spearheaded by the President Ime Udo, underscores the strategic importance of promoting a specific destinations collaboratively, laying the groundwork for heightened influence within the Domestic tourism landscape.

This strategic move not only aims to elevate NATOP’s visibility but also seeks to attract attention from other states to position their offerings for attention.

During the deliberations, the meeting delved into discussions on the merits of promoting some chosen destinations emphasizing the showcasing and marketing of the best offerings each state possesses. In a democratic process, three potential locations were proposed for consideration: Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Ekiti states.

The outcome of the poll revealed that Akwa Ibom State emerged as the clear favorite followed by Cross River and Ekiti.

This collaborative decision-making process reflects the unity and shared vision among NATOP members, reinforcing their commitment to advancing the Nigerian tourism sector.
