The National Association for Tour Operators in Nigeria have announced the dates for their Annual General Meeting.

The AGM is slated for 26th to the 28th of July 2022. It will be held in Owerri in Imo State.

This will be the first time that NATOP will be going to the South East Zone of Nigeria. In the last 5 editions NATOP has used the AGM to expose the Tourism Assets of Nigeria.

In 2016 the AGM was held in Calabar, Cross River State in the South-South of Nigeria. The 2017 AGM was held in Lagos, South West of Nigeria. It is the only tourism event that has been attended by the Minister in Charge of Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

The 2018 AGM was held in Jos, Plateau State in the North Central of Nigeria. 2019 was held at Ife in Osun State in the South West of Nigeria.

There was no physical AGM in 2020 because of Covid19 but the 2021 edition was held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in the South-South of Nigeria.

Imo State will be the first state in the South East to host the Nigerian Association of Tour Operators Annual General Meeting.

Imo State is positioning itself as the Tourism Hub of the south east and the AGM offers a great opportunity to engage the professionals in tourism.

According to a message from NATOP Secretariat signed by the General Secretary Geraldine Itoe, “Further to the last zoom meeting held between the excos, members of the BOT and the BOT Chairman of NATOP on the 5th of July, this is to notify you of the association’s AGM holding on the 26th to 28th of July 2022 in Owerri, Imo State. The commissioner for Tourism, Imo State will be hosting us for our AGM and conference and will be happy to show tour operators the beauty and tourism potentials of Owerri.”

The theme for the 2022 AGM is “How Tour Operators can Re-invent Travel and Tourism in Nigeria.”

NATOP is the umbrella Association for all practising Tour Operators in Nigeria. It is a member of the Federation of Tourism Associations in Nigeria FTAN.
